Policy and Health Warranty

*GRUNWALD HAUS HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH ANY OTHER KENNELS/BREEDERS OR RAFAEL KULA*

Our Dogs
Our dogs are purebred West German Showline German Shepherd Dogs. We do not breed giants or so called “Old-Fashioned” or “Old World” German Shepherds. Our dogs are athletic, mentally and physically sound and suitable for work, play or just being a household pet.  Our dogs are SV (German Shepherd Registry in Germany) and/or AKC registered. Prior to breeding all of our dogs are either SV hip and elbow rated or evaluted and approved for breeding by OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) or PennHIP. All of our dogs are family members and live with us. Our dogs are not kennel dogs as we believe that this the healthiest way to breed dogs and the only way to truly be able to evaluate their temperaments. We will not breed any dog that is unhealthy, nervous, shy or aggressive. All of our puppies are socialized and are handled by our children from the day they are born.

Visitation
We welcome and encourage you to come visit us and our dogs.  If you are interested in meeting a particular dog we require advance notice as not all of our dogs reside here with us. All visits are by appointment only.  We kindly ask you not to visit any pet stores, farms, other breeders or handle any other animals prior to visiting us.

Deposit
In order to reserve a puppy we require a non-refundable deposit of $500. In the case that there isn’t enough puppies in any particular litter, this deposit will be transferred to one of our future litters of buyer’s choice.

Special Circumstances
If you ever experience a life changing situation for instance loss of employment, deterioration of health, divorce, loss of housing or anything else that would prevent you from providing adequate care for your dog, please remember that every Grunwald Haus dog always has a home here with us. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. No need for you to ever consider a shelter or other rehoming options.

Health Warranty
Our puppies are dewormed 4 times: once at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks of age. Puppies have their first set of shots administered at 6 weeks of age. We require that the puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days. Failure to comply with this requirement will render our health warranty null and void. A copy of the examination must be sent to us by fax or by mail within 10 days.  We DO NOT require that you spay/neuter your dog, however for our health warranty to remain in effect this procedure can not performed prior to 24 months of age. Grunwald Haus guarantees that your puppy will obtain an OFA certification of at least an OFA fair by 12 months of age. X-rays of hips must show proper positioning and meet OFA standards. Grunwald Haus does not cover the expense of x-rays and their evaluations. Should a dog show evidence of hip or elbow dysplasia, an evaluation letter from OFA as well as copies of x-rays must be forwarded to our veterinarian. If said dog is found to be dysplastic, we will NOT require the return of your dog and offer you a replacement puppy.

The owner is responsible for the daily health care and maintenance of the dog including all immunizations and examinations recommended as well as providing necessary medication and follow up treatments from veterinarian visits. In order for the warranty to remain in effect you must keep all receipts and records to verify that you have taken your dog to a licensed veterinarian for check-ups and all required immunizations.

Breeding

Grunwald Haus does not sell puppies or dogs for breeding purposes unless specifically stated so in writing. UKC registration upon proof of spaying or neutering.
